Needs
Rugby is a family affair. The Rugby Academy VT wants you to join our Nigerien rugby family. We fundamentally believe that small, focused actions can make a fundamental difference in people's lives. You know that the Sahel is in crisis. Threats abound from all sides. Traveling outside the city limits is dangerous. Children can't travel to their villages, which means they are more often at home with little to do. The academy is a way to accompany them during this difficult period in Niger's history.
We're small, we're focused, and we've already made an impact. But we need you. Our annual budget of €21,000 is under constant pressure. In reality, it has never been fully funded. Covid has also had an impact on our activities and we have had to reduce our services to the children in our care.
Our tutors are paid less than $2 an hour. They desperately need a pay rise or bonus but we don't have the means.
- we constantly need sports equipment (balls, cones, clothes, water bottles etc.)
- we ALWAYS need more school materials (exercise books, pens etc.).
